Why Spanish works on a quiz-show board
Language review is three skills in one period: vocabulary, grammar and culture, with speaking and listening woven through. A five-column board holds all of it. Name the columns in Spanish, require the answers in Spanish from the 300 row up, and the game itself becomes input. The ladder then runs from a single word at 100 to a full sentence with a correctly conjugated verb at 500.
Category ideas for Spanish jeopardy
Five columns, five values each. Copy a set as it stands, or swap in the names of your own units. The board draws your categories in the order you type them.
Spanish 1 unit review
Ser o Estar is a fast yes-or-no column that teaches the hardest rule in the course. Números y Fechas asks for the number or date written out in words.
Verbs board
The fourth column is the whole second year of the course in one place. Give a sentence with a blank and a context clue; teams conjugate on whiteboards.
Communication board
Escucha is read aloud by you; the board shows only 'Escucha'. Corrige el Error puts a sentence with one mistake on the board and teams rewrite it.
How to mix difficulty from 100 to 500
The value is a promise to the class about how hard the question is. Keep the promise and teams will reach for the 500s.
- 100One word¿Cómo se dice 'book'?
- 200A phrase or a formConjugate 'hablar' for 'nosotros' in the present.
- 300Choose the formElla ___ (ser / estar) enferma hoy. Explain the choice.
- 400A full sentenceAnswer in a complete sentence: ¿Qué hiciste el fin de semana pasado?
- 500Correct or composeFind and fix the two errors in this sentence, then read it aloud.
Running Spanish jeopardy with teams
Quiz Show Grid runs 2 to 8 teams from one screen, with a scorecard for each. These four rules keep every team working every question.
- 1
Whiteboards for every team and answers in Spanish from the 300 row up. A correct answer in English on a 400 cell earns 100.
- 2
Read every question aloud in Spanish before teams write. The reading is listening practice, and it keeps the slower readers in the game.
- 3
Rotate who speaks the answer, not just who writes it. One student per cell says it aloud; the team wins the cell only if the pronunciation is understandable.
- 4
Keep Cultura or El Mundo Hispano as the last column opened. It is where a team that struggles with conjugation can catch up.
Build the board in 3 steps
- 1
Pick or build a question bank
Open Quiz Show Grid and choose a bank from My Question Banks. No bank yet? Create with AI: pick the subject and grade, add a note about the topic, and it drafts 5 to 20 questions you edit before you play.
- 2
Set teams and categories
Choose 2 to 8 teams and name them, or let the game pick names. Type your category names, comma separated. Up to 25 questions fill one board at 100 to 500 points; a bigger bank adds a second board.
- 3
Start the show
Tap a cell and the question fills the screen. Press Reveal Answer (or the spacebar), tap + on every team that earned it, and Esc back to the board. Clear the board and Crown the Champions.
Spanish jeopardy questions, answered
Can I type accents and ñ in questions?
Yes. The question and answer fields take any Unicode text, so á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ and ¿ ¡ display on the board exactly as typed.
Can the board run entirely in Spanish?
Your questions, answers and category names can be in Spanish. The game's own buttons (Reveal Answer, Back to Board) are in English.
Can the AI draft Spanish questions?
Create with AI takes a subject and grade plus a note. Write the note in the terms you want ('Spanish 1, preterite regular verbs, questions in Spanish') and edit what it drafts before you play.
