Quizizz vs Game Room is really Wayground vs Game Room, since Quizizz renamed itself. The two products want different things from your class period. Wayground is an assessment platform that turns one set into a live game, homework, flashcards or an exit ticket, with standards-aligned content and reports by standard. The Game Room + Arcade is a set of 60 games that run on your question bank. We make the games.
Wayground publishes no prices (its pricing page returned a 404 on October 16, 2026; the home page says teachers sign up free and admins get a quote), so the table shows that rather than a number.

Where Quizizz (Wayground) is better
Wayground wins on assessment. It states standards-aligned content, a browse-by-standard library, reports by standard and ESSA Level 3 evidence in math and ELA. It auto-grades homework with due dates. It is free for teachers and has a large content library and AI tools. If you need to show a coach which standards a class has mastered, Wayground is built for that.
Where The Game Room + Arcade is better
The Game Room wins on being a game. Sixty of them, purpose-built, rather than games added to an assessment platform: 30 projected, teacher-led, in teams, and 30 solo in the Arcade with tickets and a Prize Shop. The model is simple: one bank, two ways to play, no student email. The AI bank builder generates editable banks and can include graphs for math. Per-period Arcade reports show who played, what they answered and how accurately, without the overhead of an assessment system.
Cost for a year, side by side
Quizizz (Wayground): Not published: the pricing page returned a 404 and admins are told to get a quote, so we print no number; see their pricing page. The Game Room + Arcade: Game Room $49 a year ($8.99 monthly), Arcade $69 a year ($12.99 monthly), bundle $89 a year ($15.99 monthly), each with a 7-day free trial and cancel anytime. Checked October 16, 2026. We know our annual prices are higher than several competitors’; the case for ours is the product, not the price.
Who should pick which
- Pick Wayground if standards reporting, auto-graded homework or a free plan is the requirement.
- Pick the Game Room + Arcade if the requirement is a review day students talk about, whole-class or solo, and you are happy to grade elsewhere.
- Note the name change. Older guides say Quizizz; the product and the account are now Wayground.
From the classroom
A classroom note from the teacher behind the Game Room belongs here. It is left out until she has written it.
