Jeopardy Labs vs Game Room is not a close price fight, and we will not pretend it is. JeopardyLabs is free, requires no registration, states that it runs no ads, and offers about 5 million user-made boards. The Game Room + Arcade starts at $49 a year. We make it. The question is whether what you get for the money is worth it for your classroom, and this page tries to answer that honestly.
The table, then where each is better, then who should pick which.

Where JeopardyLabs is better
JeopardyLabs wins on free, instant and private. No account, no sign-up, no ads according to its privacy policy, and a board in minutes from a library of about 5 million. For a substitute teacher, a last-period review or a classroom with no device cart, it is close to perfect. We charge money and ask for an account; they do neither.
Where The Game Room + Arcade is better
The Game Room wins on everything beyond the one board. Thirty whole-class formats instead of one, a solo Arcade with 30 more games on student devices, tickets and a Prize Shop that carry over between days, per-period reports, and an AI bank builder that writes an editable set (with graphs for math) from a topic. Students join with no email or account. New games arrive monthly. If review happens more than a few times a year, the variety is what you are paying for.
Cost for a year, side by side
JeopardyLabs: A paid membership exists but its price is not published on the site, so we print no number; see their pricing page. The Game Room + Arcade: Game Room $49 a year ($8.99 monthly), Arcade $69 a year ($12.99 monthly), bundle $89 a year ($15.99 monthly), each with a 7-day free trial and cancel anytime. Checked October 16, 2026. We know our annual prices are higher than several competitors’; the case for ours is the product, not the price.
Who should pick which
- Pick JeopardyLabs if you need a free board right now, with no sign-up and no devices.
- Pick the Game Room + Arcade if review is a weekly habit, you want students on devices some days and the board other days, or you want results stored by class period.
- Honest note: JeopardyLabs has a paid membership, but its price is not published on the site, so we do not print one.
From the classroom
