Who wrote this: we make The Game Room + Arcade, one of the tools on this page. Competitor facts come from the vendors' own pages where we could reach them (checked October 16, 2026); anything we could not verify says so and links to the vendor instead.

Blooket vs Game Room is a comparison with one awkward gap: Blooket’s pricing page blocked our check on October 16, 2026, so this page prints no Blooket prices and links you to the page instead. Everything else is a fair fight between a device game built around collectibles and a product built around one bank, two ways to play. We make the second one.

The table, then where each is better, then who should pick which.

Where Blooket is better

Blooket wins on its free tier and its following. Third-party reviews describe free hosting, set creation and homework mode for a full class, and reviews put its paid price below our $89 bundle, though we could not confirm either on the vendor page. The collectible "Blooks" are a genuine motivator for younger students, and Blooket is the tool teachers most often name alongside Kahoot!. If individual device play with a big free tier is the brief, Blooket is the incumbent for a reason.

Where The Game Room + Arcade is better

The Game Room wins on the board. Thirty teacher-led games, projected, in teams, with no devices needed; Blooket’s core is individual devices. The Arcade covers that side too: 30 solo games where the only way to score is answering your questions, with tickets, a Prize Shop, class and world records and per-period reports stored without student emails. The AI bank builder can generate graphs, which matters for math. One login for both halves.

Cost for a year, side by side

Blooket: Not confirmed: the vendor pricing page blocked our check, so we print no number; see their pricing page. The Game Room + Arcade: Game Room $49 a year ($8.99 monthly), Arcade $69 a year ($12.99 monthly), bundle $89 a year ($15.99 monthly), each with a 7-day free trial and cancel anytime. Checked October 16, 2026. We know our annual prices are higher than several competitors’; the case for ours is the product, not the price.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Blooket if you want a free, device-based game with collectibles and a large community of teachers sharing sets.
  • Pick the Game Room + Arcade if you want whole-class projected play as well as solo practice, reports by class period without student accounts, or a reward loop that only pays for correct answers to your questions.
  • Check the Blooket page yourself before planning around a limit. We would rather send you there than repeat a blog’s number.

Questions teachers ask

Is Blooket free?

Blooket has a free plan, but blooket.com/pricing blocked our check on October 16, 2026, so we do not print its limits or paid prices as fact. Third-party reviews describe free hosting, set creation and homework mode. Confirm on the page.

Does the Game Room have collectibles?

Not collectibles in Blooket’s sense. The Arcade pays tickets for correct answers, which students spend in a Prize Shop on playable prizes, and keeps class and world records.

Do students need accounts for The Game Room + Arcade?

No student email or traditional account. Students join with a teacher code, their class period, a first name and a private picture password. Results and tickets are stored so progress carries over, and only the teacher can see them.

How much does The Game Room + Arcade cost?

The Game Room is $8.99 a month or $49 a year (30 whole-class games). The Arcade is $12.99 a month or $69 a year (30 solo games). The bundle with both is $15.99 a month or $89 a year (all 60). Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial of that plan; cancel before day 7 and you pay nothing.
